How does the House determine how long I can stay?

Families living 30-50 miles away are eligible for 5 days and families living 50 or more miles way are eligible for 30 days. Extensions may be granted upon request.

Do you have transportation?

Shuttle service is provided between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. to local hospitals, banks and stores (grocery/ pharmacy) and doctors.

 Who can stay?

We are available to immediate family (mom, dad, grandparents, siblings, legal guardians) of children (21 years of age) using services at local hospitals.

How many people can stay in a room?

Most rooms accommodate between 2-3 people with an additional crib.  If you have special circumstances that might require additional guests, please call the office at 616-776-1300 and speak with the On-Duty Manager.


What is the rent of a room?

Guests are asked to consider a contribution of $25 per night. No one is ever turned away due to inability to contribute to their stay.


Does insurance cover room fees?

Medicaid and/or Children's Special Health Care may be billed with prior authorization from the family's DHS/CSHC case worker. Families are asked to check with their hospital social worker.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Families may call the Ronald McDonald House to be placed on a waiting list. We are on a first come, first serve basis, no reservations. Guests are asked to call back on the day of their arrival to confirm availability.

What will I need to bring with me to check in at the House?

When you check in, the House will need a copy of a state issued form of identification and your Medicaid/insurance card.
