MAKE ROOM IN YOUR HEART CAMPAIGN

The Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan celebrated an important milestone in 2010, its 20th year of providing a home away from home for families traveling to Grand Rapids seeking medical treatment for a child. The House opened its door on March 23, 1990. Since then, more than 10,000 families facing the hardship and heartache of a child’s illness have stayed at the House.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, a new campaign, Make Room In Your Heart, was launched. The goal of this campaign is to renovate the 17 guest rooms at the Ronald McDonald House. These rooms are in need of new carpeting, tile, fixtures, furniture and bathroom fixtures. All interior design work for Make Room in Your Heart is being provided as an in-kind gift to the House. In addition, several area distributors are providing supplies at greatly reduced rates.

Make Room In Your Heart is supported by sponsors willing to underwrite the cost of a room renovation. Each renovated room will receive a plaque at the room entrance acknowledging the sponsor of the room. A plaque listing all Make Room in Your Heart sponsors will be displayed in the House’s foyer. Sponsors will also receive a donor plaque that may be displayed at their company location. Additional donor acknowledgement will be included in the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan Annual Report and the organization’s website. The cost of a Make Room In Your Heart sponsorship is $10,000.

Current Make Room In Your Heart campaign sponsors include Fifth Third Bank, Amway, The Frey Foundation, InSphere Insurance, the Vanderweide Family Foundation, the Doug & Maria DeVos Foundation, Applied Imaging, Steve Billmeier, West Michigan Marketing Association, Kim Krause & Gary Greff and Art Van Furniture. Additional support has also been provided by individual supporters.
