The volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House are the backbone that keeps the House running. For persons able to spend a minimum of 6 hours per month at the House, we will find a way to utilize your time and talents to improve the lives of our families. We currently offer the following positions:
House Warmers – make guests feel welcome and ensure a clean, comfortable environment for guests. They give tours, help in the kitchen, and prepare rooms.
Shuttle Drivers – provide transportation for guest families to and from local hospitals, medical facilities, grocery stores, pharmacies, and local attractions. They assist with donated items, household chores, and run errands for the House.
Please note, the House is unable to train new volunteers during the busy Holiday Season. All volunteer requests recieved from 11/16/16-12/31/16 will be trained in the first few weeks of January 2017. Thank you for your understanding.
Volunteers in these positions are provided with the training necessary to complete their duties. The following requirements must be met to hold one of these positions:
Orientation Session – Volunteers are expected to attend meetings as requested. One orientation session is required for all incoming volunteers
Training – Volunteers must complete at least one 3 hour training session with a current volunteer. Volunteers may choose to complete additional training sessions if desired.
Scheduling – Volunteers holding a regularly scheduled volunteer position must complete a minimum of six volunteer service hours a month to hold active volunteer status. Volunteers are scheduled for 3 hour shifts, bi-weekly.
